A decade later, their paths crossed again on the set of “Lemon Sky.” Kyra candidly admitted, “He definitely wasn’t my type. In fact, I vividly remember looking at his butt when he walked away after we first met and thinking, ‘Well, I guess some girls like that.'”

But fate had other plans. The following year, in 1988, they tied the knot in a private ceremony followed by a grand reception for 300 guests. Their love story, which began on Christmas Eve 1987, was sealed with an engagement ring.

A Family of Four

Soon after their wedding, the couple welcomed their first child, Travis Sedgwick Bacon, followed by their daughter, Sosie Ruth, in 1992. Sosie has followed in her parents’ footsteps, starring in the Netflix series “13 Reasons Why.” Travis, a talented musician, has even composed music for his parents’ film “Story of a Girl.”

A Love That Endures

Thirty-four years later, Kevin and Kyra’s love continues to flourish. Their enduring marriage is a testament to their commitment and understanding. Kyra once shared, “If someone had told me that at 22 I was going to meet the man I was going to marry and at 23 I would marry him and have a child, I would have told them they were out of their mind.”

Kevin’s admiration for his wife is evident in his public displays of affection. Both often share heartfelt messages on social media, celebrating their love and partnership.

However, their journey has not been without its challenges. Kevin candidly revealed, “The time I was hitting what I considered to be bottom was also the time I met my wife, our kids were born, good things were happening. And I was able to keep supporting myself; that always gave me strength.”

The couple faced a significant financial setback in 2008 when they lost millions due to the Bernie Madoff Ponzi scheme. Despite this adversity, they emerged stronger, relying on their love and unwavering support for each other.

A Surprising Family Connection

In a twist of fate, a DNA test revealed that Kevin and Kyra are ninth cousins, once removed. While the revelation was initially unsettling, they embraced their unexpected family connection.
