Ingredients:

Ingredient Amount
Vegetable oil 1 tablespoon
Onion, chopped 1
Garlic, minced 2 cloves
Dried thyme 1 teaspoon
Dried rosemary 1 teaspoon
Salt 1 teaspoon
Pepper 1 teaspoon
Lean ground beef 1 pound
All-purpose flour 4 teaspoons
Heinz Tomato Ketchup ¼ cup
Heinz® Tomato Juice ¾ cup
Heinz Worcestershire Sauce 2 tablespoons
Dijon mustard 2 tablespoons
Frozen mixed vegetables 1 cup
Cooked, warm, mashed potatoes 3 cups
Butter 2 tablespoons
Garlic, minced 1 clove
Warm milk ⅔ cup

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
  2. Prepare the filling: Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, until softened. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Sprinkle with flour, then stir in ketchup, tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard. Simmer for 5 minutes, then stir in mixed vegetables.
  3. Prepare the mashed potatoes: Whip mashed potatoes with warm milk, butter, and minced garlic until fluffy.
  4. Assemble the pie: Transfer the meat mixture to a baking dish. Spread mashed potatoes evenly over the top.
