Whole milk ¼ cup

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and lightly flour a 10–12 cup Bundt pan, making sure to coat all the crevices.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in cocoa powder and hot coffee until smooth. Remove from heat.
  4. Pour the warm chocolate mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla. Fold into the batter until smooth—avoid overmixing.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared Bundt pan, smoothing the top.
  7. Bake for 40–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the thickest part comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack set over a baking sheet.
  9. For the glaze: melt butter in a small saucepan, whisk in cocoa and milk, then remove from heat. Gradually whisk in powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt until smooth and pourable.
  10. While the cake is still slightly warm, pour glaze over the Bundt, letting it drip naturally down the sides.
  11. Garnish with pecans or chocolate curls if desired. Let glaze set for about 20 minutes before slicing.

This cake is rich, nostalgic, and perfect for sharing—whether it’s a celebration or simply a cozy afternoon treat.
