Recipe: Three Envelope Roast

This roast is a slow-cooker favorite because it creates a deep, complex gravy with almost zero effort. The combination of Italian, Ranch, and Brown Gravy mixes provides a perfectly seasoned, “melt-in-your-mouth” result every time.

Step 3: Combine: Pour the whisked seasoning mixture directly over the top of the roast. If you are adding optional vegetables like baby potatoes, carrots, or onions, tuck them around the sides of the meat now.
Step 4: Slow Cook: Set the slow cooker to High and cook for 4 hours. (Alternatively, you can cook on Low for 8 hours for an even more tender result).
Step 5: Baste and Shred: Periodically open the lid to baste the top of the roast with the juices from the bottom of the pot. Once the meat is tender enough to pull apart with a fork, it is ready.
Step 6: Serve: Check that any added vegetables are fully softened. Serve the roast sliced or shredded, making sure to ladle plenty of the “three-envelope” gravy over the top.
