Slow Cooker Lemon Garlic Chicken Packets

Ingredients

Ingredient Amount Notes
Boneless, skinless chicken breasts 4 (about 2 lbs) Pat dry before seasoning
Unsalted butter 4 tbsp, divided 1 tbsp per packet
Garlic 4 cloves, minced (or 1 tsp powder) Fresh or powdered
Lemons 2 medium, thinly sliced Plus 1 tbsp juice, optional
Salt 1 ½ tsp Evenly sprinkled
Black pepper ½ tsp Evenly sprinkled
Heavy-duty foil 4 sheets For wrapping packets

Directions

  1. Prepare Foil
Tear 4 sheets of heavy-duty foil (12–14 inches each). Lightly crimp edges to hold juices.
  2. Season Chicken
Pat chicken dry. Sprinkle both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder (if using).
  3. Build Packets
Place one chicken breast in the center of each foil sheet. Top with 1 tbsp butter, garlic (if fresh), and 2–3 lemon slices. Drizzle with lemon juice if desired.
  4. Seal Packets
Fold long sides together, then fold short ends tightly to seal. Packets should be secure to trap steam and juices.
  5. Arrange in Slow Cooker
Place packets seam-side up in the slow cooker. Overlapping is fine as long as they’re sealed. Cover with lid.
  6. Cook
Cook on LOW for 3 ½–4 ½ hours, until chicken reaches 165°F. Avoid lifting the lid too often.
  7. Rest & Open
Let packets rest 5 minutes. Transfer to plates or a baking sheet. Open carefully—steam will be hot.
  8. Serve
Spoon juices over chicken. Garnish with cooked lemon slices or fresh lemon. Serve directly in packets for a fun, no-mess presentation, or transfer to plates.
