Ingredient Quantity
Brown Sugar (packed) 1/4 cup
Unsalted Butter 2 tablespoons
Heavy Cream 2 tablespoons
Powdered Sugar 1/3 cup
Kosher Salt 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Banana Bread Batter

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). 1 Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and set aside.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Add Eggs: Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Add Bananas and Sour Cream: Mix in the mashed bananas, sour cream, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

2. Bake the Banana Bread

  • Pour Batter into Pan: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it out evenly.
  • Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Cool: Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

3. Prepare the Salted Caramel Glaze

  • Melt Butter and Sugar: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar and butter. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture starts to bubble.
  • Add Cream and Salt: Remove from heat and stir in the heavy cream and kosher salt. Mix until smooth.
  • Add Powdered Sugar: Gradually whisk in the powdered sugar until the glaze is smooth and reaches your desired consistency. If the glaze is too thick, add a little more cream; if it’s too thin, add more powdered sugar.

4. Glaze the Banana Bread

  • Drizzle Glaze: Once the banana bread has cooled, drizzle the salted caramel glaze over the top.
  • Set Glaze: Allow the glaze to set for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

5. Serve

Slice the banana bread and enjoy this indulgent treat!
