These quick and easy maple bars are a delicious, homemade treat that’s perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a snack. They’re made with store-bought biscuits and fried until golden brown, then topped with a sweet and flavorful maple glaze.

Vegetable oil 3 cups

Salted butter 5 tablespoons
Milk 4 tablespoons
Light corn syrup 1 ½ tablespoons
Maple extract 1 tablespoon
Confectioners’ sugar 1 ¾ cups

Instructions:

  1. Heat the Oil: Heat the vegetable oil in a large, deep skillet or pot over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the Biscuits: Flatten each biscuit slightly with your hands or a rolling pin.
  3. Fry the Biscuits: Carefully drop the flattened biscuits into the hot oil, frying a few pieces at a time. Fry each side for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Make the Maple Glaze: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar, milk, corn syrup, and maple extract. Remove from heat and whisk in the confectioners’ sugar.
  5. Glaze the Bars: Dip each fried biscuit into the warm maple glaze and let any excess drip off.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Let the glazed bars set for a few minutes before serving.
