Ingredient Amount Notes
Ground beef 2 pounds (900 g)
Onion 1 medium Finely chopped
Green bell pepper 1 Finely chopped
Garlic 2 cloves Minced
Breadcrumbs 1 cup (120 g)
Eggs 2 large Beaten
Milk 1/4 cup (60 ml)
Worcestershire sauce 2 tbsp
Ketchup 2 tbsp
Salt 1 tsp
Black pepper 1/2 tsp
Dried oregano 1/2 tsp
Dried thyme 1/2 tsp
Provolone cheese 8 oz (225 g) Sliced
White American cheese 8 oz (225 g) Sliced
Olive oil For greasing

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, chopped bell pepper, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, beaten eggs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, salt, black pepper, dried oregano, and dried thyme. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  3. Grease a baking dish with olive oil to prevent sticking. Transfer half of the meat mixture into the greased baking dish and press it down firmly to form an even layer.
  4. Arrange the provolone and white American cheese slices on top of the meat mixture, covering it completely.
  5. Take the remaining half of the meat mixture and place it on top of the cheese slices. Press it down gently to seal the filling and shape the meatloaf.
  6. Bake the meatloaf in the preheated oven for approximately 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  7. Once cooked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
