Joke of the day: The young wife went into labor while her husband was overseas serving in the war

A young woman found herself going into labor while her husband was away, bravely serving his country in the war overseas.

The following day brought news to the faraway husband: his wife had given birth to not one, but two babies – twins! Overjoyed by this wonderful news, he immediately sought out a telephone to call his wife.

“Oh, sweetheart, I’m absolutely thrilled!” he exclaimed, his voice filled with happiness. “Who was it that took you to the hospital?”

His wife replied, “Your brother, Joe, kindly drove me. And since I had to be given anesthesia during the delivery, he was the one who had the honor of naming our new babies.”

A wave of concern washed over the husband. “But… but Joe isn’t exactly known for his… well, his brilliant ideas!” he stammered, a bit worried. “Oh no! What on earth did he name them?”

His wife chuckled softly before answering, “Well, we have a beautiful baby girl and a handsome baby boy. Joe decided to name the girl Deniece.”

“Deniece?” the husband repeated, pausing for a moment. “Hmm, well, you know, that’s actually not so bad. It’s a nice name. So, what did he name the boy?” he asked, bracing himself slightly.

With a slight pause for dramatic effect, the wife replied, “Joe named the boy De-nephew.”
