Maid-Rite Style Beef Sliders

Maid-Rite Sliders combine everything people love about the iconic Midwestern loose-meat sandwich in an easy, family-friendly baked slider. Soft, fluffy rolls are filled with seasoned ground beef, sweet onions, and layers of melty cheddar cheese, then baked until warm and golden.

Unlike traditional burgers that use formed patties, Maid-Rite sandwiches feature finely crumbled ground beef cooked with onions and a flavorful blend of seasonings. The result is a savory, juicy filling that delivers plenty of flavor without the heavy tomato-based sauce commonly found in sloppy joes.

For these easy sliders, the seasoned beef mixture is layered onto connected slider buns, topped with cheddar cheese, and finished with a brush of melted butter. A quick bake in the oven melts the cheese and lightly toasts the buns, creating a comforting meal that’s both simple and satisfying.

Beef broth 1/2 cup
Worcestershire sauce 1 tbsp
Yellow mustard 1 tbsp
Brown sugar 1 tbsp
Garlic powder 1 tsp
Salt 1 tsp
Black pepper 1/2 tsp

How to Make Maid-Rite Sliders

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Step 2

Add the ground beef and diced onion to a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook until the beef is browned and the onions are softened, breaking the meat into small crumbles as it cooks.

Step 3

Drain most of the excess grease, leaving a small amount behind to help keep the beef moist and flavorful.

Step 4

Stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

Step 5

Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until most of the liquid has been absorbed and the beef mixture is juicy but not wet.

Step 6

Using a serrated knife, slice the entire package of slider buns horizontally, keeping the rolls connected.

Step 7

Place the bottom half of the buns into the prepared baking dish.

Step 8

Spread the seasoned beef mixture evenly over the buns, covering them from edge to edge.

Step 9

Lay the cheddar cheese slices evenly over the beef layer.

Step 10

Place the top half of the buns over the cheese and gently press down.

Step 11

Brush the melted butter evenly across the tops of the buns.

Step 12

Loosely cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 10 minutes.

Step 13

Remove the foil and continue baking for 5 to 8 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the buns are lightly golden.

Step 14

Allow the sliders to rest for 2 to 3 minutes before separating and serving warm.
