All-Purpose Flour (divided) 4 cups
Butter, melted 6 tablespoons
Milk 1 cup
Salt 1 1/2 teaspoons

Garlic, minced 2-4 cloves
Fresh Parsley, chopped 1/3 cup
Salt and Pepper To taste
Parmesan Cheese, grated 1/4 cup

Instructions:

Preparing the Dough:

  1. Activate the Yeast:
    • In a small bowl, combine the warm water, yeast, and 1 tablespoon of the granulated sugar. Stir to dissolve and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy.
  2. Mix the Dough:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of flour, the remaining sugar, melted butter, milk, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and stir until well combined. Gradually add the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, until the dough starts to come together and is no longer sticky.
  3. Knead the Dough:
    • Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead for about 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour as needed.
  4. First Rise:
    • Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until doubled in size.
