Seafood Salad

This Seafood Salad is a refreshing, coastal-inspired classic that relies on the sweet, mild flavor of imitation crab and the bright pop of fresh dill. It is essentially a “no-cook” recipe, making it a perfect choice for hot summer days or quick meal prep. The addition of Old Bay seasoning provides that quintessential Maryland-style zest that elevates the salad from simple to gourmet.

Seafood Salad

Ingredients:

THE PROTEIN & CRUNCH AMOUNT
Imitation crab meat (flaked style) 16 oz
Celery, finely diced 1/2 cup
Red onion, very finely diced 3 tablespoons
THE DRESSING AMOUNT
Mayonnaise 1/2 cup
Fresh lemon juice 2 teaspoons
Fresh dill, chopped (or 1/2 tsp dried) 1 1/2 tablespoons
Old Bay seasoning 1/2 teaspoon
Salt and black pepper To taste

How To Make Seafood Salad:

Step 1: Prep the Components: If your imitation crab is in large chunks, use your fingers or a fork to gently flake it into smaller, bite-sized pieces. Finely dice the celery and red onion; the smaller the dice, the better the flavor distribution in every bite.

Step 2: Combine: In a large mixing bowl, add the flaked crab, celery, and red onion. Top with the mayonnaise, lemon juice, chopped dill, and Old Bay seasoning.

Step 3: Toss and Season: Using a large spoon or spatula, toss the mixture gently to coat the crab thoroughly without mashing it. Add a pinch of salt and pepper, taste, and adjust according to your preference.

Step 4: Chill (Optional): While you can serve this immediately, the flavors meld beautifully if the salad is covered and refrigerated for at least 30 minutes.
