Instructions
- Cook Pasta
Bring salted water to a boil. Cook pasta until al dente. Drain, reserving ½ cup pasta water. - Make Beef Sauce
Heat olive oil in a skillet. Sauté onion 2–3 minutes until soft. Add garlic; cook 30 seconds.
Add beef, cook until browned, breaking apart. Drain excess fat if needed.
Season with salt, pepper, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Stir in tomato sauce; simmer 5–7 minutes. - Combine Pasta & Sauce
Toss cooked pasta with beef sauce. Add reserved pasta water if sauce is too thick. - Add Cheese
Stir in heavy cream (optional). Sprinkle cheese over pasta. Cover skillet 2–3 minutes until melted, or transfer to a baking dish and broil 5 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Pro Tips
- Use freshly grated cheese for better flavor and melting.
- Let sauce simmer longer for deeper taste.
- Add a pinch of sugar if tomato sauce is too acidic.
- Don’t overcook pasta—it will absorb more flavor in the sauce.
