Praline Crunch Caramel

Every holiday season, my kitchen fills with the irresistible aroma of Praline Crunch—sweet, nutty, and utterly addictive. It never lasts more than a few days. Whether for parties, gift tins, or a cozy movie night, this crunchy snack is always the first to disappear and the one everyone asks for again.

The first time I brought it to a neighborhood cookie swap, it vanished faster than anything else on the table. Since then, friends and family insist I make double batches—because everyone wants to take some home.

Praline Crunch

📝 Ingredients

Base Ingredients Amount
Crispix cereal 8 cups
Pecan halves 2 cups
Caramel Mixture Amount
Unsalted butter ½ cup
Packed brown sugar ½ cup
Light corn syrup ½ cup
Vanilla extract 1 tsp
Baking soda ½ tsp

🍴 Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix base: In a large bowl, combine Crispix cereal and pecan halves.
  3. Make caramel: Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add brown sugar and corn syrup, stirring until smooth. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  4. Finish caramel: Boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and baking soda until foamy.
  5. Coat & toss: Quickly pour caramel over cereal and pecans. Toss gently until evenly coated.
  6. Bake: Spread mixture in a single layer on the baking sheet. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes for even caramelization.
  7. Cool & break: Let cool completely. Break into clusters and store in an airtight container.

💡 Notes

  • Work quickly when pouring the caramel—it hardens fast.
  • Perfect for gifting, snacking, or adding to holiday dessert trays.

✨ Result: Golden, crunchy clusters with a sweet praline coating that taste like pure holiday magic.
