This classic Italian-American casserole combines tender beef, creamy sauce, and al dente egg noodles for a hearty and comforting meal. It’s a perfect dish for a family dinner or a special occasion.

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Beef sirloin (thinly sliced) 1 pound
Egg noodles 12 ounces
Olive oil 2 tablespoons
Onion (finely chopped) 1
Garlic (minced) 3 cloves
Mushrooms (sliced) 8 ounces
Beef broth 1 cup
Heavy cream 1 cup
Sour cream ½ cup
Parmesan cheese (grated) 1 cup
Mozzarella cheese (grated) ½ cup
All-purpose flour ¼ cup
Butter 2 tablespoons
Salt and pepper To taste
Fresh parsley (chopped) 2 tablespoons

Instructions:

  1. Cook egg noodles: Cook egg noodles according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Cook beef: Brown beef sirloin in olive oil over medium-high heat. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. Sauté vegetables: In the same skillet, sauté onion, garlic, and mushrooms until tender.
  4. Make sauce: Sprinkle flour over sautéed vegetables and cook for 1-2 minutes. Gradually add beef broth and heavy cream, stirring constantly. Bring to a simmer and cook until thickened. Stir in sour cream, Parmesan cheese, and mozzarella cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Combine and assemble: Combine cooked egg noodles, beef, and creamy mushroom sauce in a large bowl. Transfer to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  6. Bake: Bake in preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.
  7. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve hot.
