Captain Ian Farquhar, a cherished confidant of the Monarch, has lamentably departed this life at the age of 78. Ian had long been an intimate companion of King Charles and Queen Camilla.

He had also earned distinction by acting as an escort to the Queen Mother.

Celebrated as an adept hunter and equestrian, Ian proudly served in the Queen’s Hussars.

The King, already grappling with his own cancer diagnosis, is profoundly grieved by this bereavement. This sorrowful event follows closely on the heels of the demise of Lord Jacob Rothschild, who was 87.

In 2000, during a sabbatical, Prince William courted Ian’s daughter, Rose Farquhar. The youthful pair savored romantic repasts amidst the picturesque Gloucestershire landscape.

Ian Farquhar devoted many years to leasing a farm on the King’s Highgrove estate in Gloucestershire. Andy reminisced fondly about Ian, recalling him as “always a delight, yet as untamed as a hawk in his youth.”
