Honey Garlic Baked Chicken Drumsticks

Tender chicken drumsticks are marinated in a sweet and savory honey-garlic sauce with hints of ginger and spice, then baked until beautifully browned and caramelized.

Honey Garlic Baked Chicken Drumsticks

Ingredients:

Chicken drumsticks (or 6 chicken legs) 12 (about 4 lbs)

For the Marinade

INGREDIENTS AMOUNT
Olive oil 2 tablespoons
Sesame oil 1 tablespoon
Low sodium soy sauce 1/4 cup
Worcestershire sauce 2 tablespoons
Lemon juice (or lime juice) 2 tablespoons
Honey (or maple syrup) 5 tablespoons
Garlic (minced) 6 cloves
Ginger root (peeled and grated, or use 1/4 tsp powdered ginger) 1 inch
Black pepper (freshly ground) 1/2 tsp
Kosher salt (plus more to taste) 1 tsp
Red pepper flakes 1/2 tsp

How To Make Honey Garlic Baked Chicken Drumsticks:

Step 1: Prepare Marinade: In a medium bowl, combine all of the ingredients for the marinade (oils, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, honey, garlic, ginger, pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes) and mix with a fork. Set aside.

Step 2: Marinate Chicken: Place the 12 chicken drumsticks in a Ziploc bag. Add the marinade. Expel as much air from the bag as possible and close. Marinate overnight and up to 24 hours, or at least several hours.

Note: If baking immediately, massage the drumsticks in the bag with the marinade for about 5 minutes to infuse flavor quickly.

Step 3: Bake Chicken: Preheat oven to 375F (190C). Transfer the drumsticks and all of the marinade into a baking dish. Bake uncovered at 375F for 45-50 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 185F and the drumsticks are nicely browned on top.

Step 4: Serve: Carefully remove from the oven and serve hot. Drizzle with the pan juices and serve with your favorite side dish (e.g., mashed potatoes, rice, etc.).
