Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Ground Sausage 1 lb
Onion 1 small, finely chopped
Garlic 1 clove, minced
Dried Sage 1 tsp
Black Pepper 1/2 tsp
Salt 1/4 tsp
Puff Pastry 1 sheet, thawed
Egg 1, beaten

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine sausage mixture: In a large bowl, combine ground sausage, chopped onion, minced garlic, dried sage, black pepper, and salt. Mix well until evenly incorporated.
  3. Roll out pastry: Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface to smooth out any creases.
  4. Spread sausage filling: Spread the sausage mixture evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
  5. Roll and cut: Carefully roll the pastry up, starting from one of the long sides, to form a log. Seal the edge with a little beaten egg. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces.
  6. Arrange on baking sheet: Place the sausage rolls on the prepared baking sheet, seam side down.
  7. Brush with egg: Brush the tops of the rolls with the remaining beaten egg.
  8. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the sausage is cooked through.
  9. Cool and serve: Allow the sausage rolls to cool slightly before serving.
