Ground Sausage | 1 lb |
Onion | 1 small, finely chopped |
Garlic | 1 clove, minced |
Dried Sage | 1 tsp |
Black Pepper | 1/2 tsp |
Salt | 1/4 tsp |
Puff Pastry | 1 sheet, thawed |
Egg | 1, beaten |
Instructions:
- Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine sausage mixture: In a large bowl, combine ground sausage, chopped onion, minced garlic, dried sage, black pepper, and salt. Mix well until evenly incorporated.
- Roll out pastry: Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface to smooth out any creases.
- Spread sausage filling: Spread the sausage mixture evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Roll and cut: Carefully roll the pastry up, starting from one of the long sides, to form a log. Seal the edge with a little beaten egg. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces.
- Arrange on baking sheet: Place the sausage rolls on the prepared baking sheet, seam side down.
- Brush with egg: Brush the tops of the rolls with the remaining beaten egg.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the sausage is cooked through.
- Cool and serve: Allow the sausage rolls to cool slightly before serving.
