While the duo has entertained millions on screen, White revealed that their off-camera moments were equally cherished. “As much fun as we’ve had on camera, the memories, milestones, and life events we’ve shared with our families outside the studio are my favorites,” she admitted.
As White recounted the significant role Sajak has played in her life and her family’s lives, her emotions overwhelmed her. “We’ve watched our children grow up together, traveled the world, shared countless meals, laughed, cried, and celebrated,” she shared through tears. “What an incredible and unforgettable journey we’ve had.”
Concluding her heartfelt message, White expressed her gratitude to Sajak. “I’ve enjoyed every minute knowing you,” she said. “As this chapter of our lives ends, I know you’ll still be close by. You’re like a brother to me, a true lifelong friend whom I’ll always adore. I love you, Pat.”
As the video tribute concluded, cameras captured Sajak and White embracing on the Wheel of Fortune stage, surrounded by applause from the audience. Overwhelmed with emotion, Sajak simply uttered, “Oh my.”
In June 2023, Sajak announced his retirement from the show after its 41st season. “Well, the time has come. I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last,” he shared on Twitter. “It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all.”
