Upside-Down Banana Cake

This simple and delicious upside-down banana cake is a perfect treat for any occasion. With only one egg and two bananas, it’s a quick and easy recipe to follow.

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Sugar 60 g (6 tbsp)
Butter 50 g (1/4 cup)
Bananas 2, sliced
Egg 1
Milk 130 ml (1/2 cup)
Salt 2 g (1/2 tsp)
Vanilla extract 1 tsp
Cake flour or all-purpose flour 150 g (1 1/4 cups)
Baking powder 5 g (2/3 tbsp)
Vegetable oil 50 ml (1/4 cup)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the pan: Melt butter in a 9-inch round cake pan. Arrange sliced bananas evenly on the bottom of the pan. Sprinkle sugar over the bananas.
  2. Make the batter: In a bowl, whisk together egg, milk, salt, and vanilla extract.
  3. Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and baking powder.
  4. Mix wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Pour batter: Pour batter over the banana layer in the prepared pan.
  6. Bake: Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Invert and serve: Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Invert onto a serving plate and serve warm.
