Hawaiian-Style Chili

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Ground Beef 2 pounds
Onions, chopped 6
Red Bell Peppers, seeded and chopped 2
Stewed Tomatoes, with juice 2 (16 ounce) cans
Kidney Beans, with liquid 2 (15.5 ounce) cans
Tomato Sauce 1 (16 ounce) can
Pineapple Chunks, drained 1 (16 ounce) can
Chili Powder 2 tablespoons
Salt 2 teaspoons

How To Make Hawaiian-Style Chili:

  1. Step 1: Brown the Ground Beef (5 minutes): Heat a large Dutch oven over high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, stirring constantly, until it is barely pink.
  2. Step 2: Sautéing the Vegetables (5 minutes): Stir in the chopped onions and red bell peppers to the browned ground beef. Cook the mixture for another 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are softened and the meat is fully browned.
  3. Step 3: Draining Excess Fat (optional): For a less greasy chili, drain the excess fat from the meat and vegetables using a large mesh strainer.
  4. Step 4: Adding the Canned Ingredients: Transfer the browned meat and vegetables back into the Dutch oven (if drained). Add the stewed tomatoes (with juice), kidney beans (with liquid), tomato sauce, and drained pineapple chunks to the pot.
  5. Step 5: Seasoning the Chili: Season the chili with chili powder and salt to taste. Stir well.
  6. Step 6: Simmering to Perfection (10 minutes): Bring the chili to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer the chili, uncovered, for 10 minutes, or until it reaches your desired consistency.
  7. Step 7: Serve and Enjoy! Serve the Hawaiian-Style Chili hot with your favorite toppings, such as shredded cheese, sour cream, or chopped green onions.
