Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans.

Step 2: Prepare Dry Ingredients

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Set aside.

Step 3: Mix Wet Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in eggs one at a time.
  • Stir in vanilla extract.

Step 4: Add Bananas & Sour Cream

  • Mix in sour cream and mashed bananas until smooth.

Step 6: Bake

  • Divide batter evenly between pans.
  • Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Step 7: Cool

  • Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes.
  • Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 8: Assemble

  • Spread half the custard over one cake layer.
  • Place the second layer on top and cover with remaining custard.

Step 9: Garnish & Serve

  • Decorate with banana slices and walnuts.
  • Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready.
