Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Old-fashioned oats 1 cup
Granulated sugar 1 cup
Unsalted butter, melted 1/2 cup
Egg, beaten 1
Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
All-purpose flour 1/4 cup
Baking powder 1/4 teaspoon
Salt 1/4 teaspoon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Combine oats and sugar: In a large mixing bowl, combine the oats and sugar.
  3. Add wet ingredients: Stir in the melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract until well blended.
  4. Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Bake: Drop teaspoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart to allow for spreading.
  7. Cool: Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
