  1. In a bowl, combine 1 cup of milk and 1 cup of water. Make sure the mixture is warm, but not too hot.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of sugar and one 10g packet of yeast to the milk and water mixture.
  3. Stir well and set it aside for 10 minutes. This will activate the yeast and make it frothy.

Step 2: Preparing the Dough

  1. In another bowl, sift 6 cups of flour and add 1 teaspoon of salt.
  2. In the yeast mixture, add 1/4 cup of oil and 1 egg. Mix these ingredients thoroughly.
  3. Gradually add the flour to the yeast mixture and mix until it forms a sticky dough.
  4. Add a heaped tablespoon of butter or margarine to the dough.
  5. Knead the dough for about 15 to 20 minutes. It will become less sticky as you knead it.
  6. Rub the dough and the bowl with some oil, then cover it. Let it rise for 45 minutes.

Step 3: Shaping and Baking

  1. After the dough has risen, press it flat and make golf ball-sized buns.
  2. Place these buns in a buttered dish.
  3. Cover the dish and let the buns rise for an additional 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  5. Prepare an egg wash by mixing some egg and milk.
  6. Brush the buns with the egg and milk mixture.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 20 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
  8. Once the buns are done, rub some butter on top for that extra richness and flavor.
