Instructions:
- Season the steaks: Season the 4 cube steaks generously on both sides with McCormick Montreal Steak seasoning and McCormick Smash Burger seasoning.
- Place in slow cooker: Place the seasoned cube steaks in a single layer at the bottom of your slow cooker.
- Prepare the gravy: In a bowl, combine the can of cream of mushroom soup, the can of French onion soup, the packet of Au Jus gravy mix, and about half a can of water (using one of the soup cans to measure). Whisk the mixture until it is relatively smooth.
- Pour gravy over steaks: Pour the soup mixture evenly over the cube steaks in the slow cooker.
- Add toppings: Top the steaks and gravy with the sliced fresh mushrooms and half of a sliced onion, distributing them evenly.
- Slow cook: Cover the slow cooker and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours, or until the cube steaks are very tender and easily pierced with a fork.
- Serve: Once the steaks are cooked, serve them hot with the flavorful gravy spooned over the top. Enjoy with your choice of rice, mashed potatoes, or noodles, and consider adding a side salad or your favorite vegetable.
