Sharon Osbourne Points To The One Reason She’ll Never Return To TV Again
In less than a year since Sharon Osbourne vacated her role on “The Talk,” following her vocal defense of Piers Morgan against allegations of racism directed at Meghan Markle, she has resurfaced to voice her concerns about the current media climate.

Morgan, formerly a prominent British anchor, faced backlash for comments perceived as racist concerning Markle’s role within the British Royal Family, ultimately leading to his departure from his position.

Osbourne, in an interview with Daily Mail TV, has declared her intention to never return to television, citing the pervasive influence of cancel culture which she describes as making the industry an inhospitable environment.

“At this moment, the media landscape feels perilous. The slightest misstep, a mere word out of place, and you’ve alienated half the nation,” she remarked in a clip acquired by Fox News. “I don’t wish to subject myself to that kind of anguish; it’s simply not worth it.”
Osbourne asserts that she has been “blacklisted” and has come to the realization that expressing her views could jeopardize her career.
Reflecting on the drastic shifts in societal norms, she stated: “It’s impossible to voice any opinion nowadays without risking cancellation due to your political stance or personal beliefs.”
She believes that regardless of whether her comments were accurate or not, public backlash and potential termination would have been inevitable.
“You’re no longer permitted to share your true thoughts,” she lamented.
Osbourne considers the current climate exceedingly precarious, where no one can predict who might be offended next, leading to a significant erosion of free speech.
Recalling her upbringing, Osbourne noted a stark contrast, saying: “There were no restrictions; you could speak your mind freely. Hosting a talk show now feels impossible unless it’s by exclusive invitation.”
Without naming names, she added: “Many believed they could navigate these treacherous waters unscathed… but for me, returning is out of the question.”
Osbourne expressed concern for the safety and well-being of her family, emphasizing her desire to avoid further complications. “I have no intentions of returning to television, ever.”
Despite her grievances, Osbourne is content with the current state of affairs, acknowledging that it has become easier for women overall, though she herself has little time for TV nowadays.
She remains occupied with her family and “The Talk,” and finds enjoyment in reading scripts for films and television, which has been an enjoyable endeavor.
“I’m not actively pursuing a return to television anytime soon.”
Osbourne is resolute in her decision, finding satisfaction in her current pursuits. She has noted an increase in producers willing to listen to her perspective.
“I’m genuinely happy with that, as I still believe I possess the skills. Yet, it seems one can’t say anything anymore without facing cancellation over political beliefs or personal choices.”
“It was fundamentally an issue of free speech,” Osbourne told the Daily Mail.
“A journalist friend of mine penned something controversial, and some extremists responded with accusations of racism against my friend Piers. It’s absurd,” she concluded.
