How to Soften Hard Brown Sugar Effortlessly:

  1. Place the hardened brown sugar in a microwave-safe bowl.
  2. Slightly dampen a paper towel, ensuring it is not dripping wet.
  3. Cover the bowl with the dampened paper towel.
  4. Microwave on high for 20 to 30 seconds.
  5. Check if the brown sugar has softened by gently prodding it with a spoon. If it’s still hard, repeat the process in 10-second intervals until it reaches the desired consistency.

Why This Method Works:

The moisture from the paper towel rehydrates the brown sugar, softening it without melting it. The heat from the microwave accelerates this process, allowing the moisture to penetrate the sugar crystals quickly. This simple trick lets you get back to baking without any hassle.
