Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Lean ground beef 1 lb
Yellow onion, finely diced 1
Green pepper, chopped 1
Salt ½ teaspoon
Cornstarch 1 tablespoon
Beef broth 1 cup
A.1. Sauce ¼ cup
Steak seasoning 1 teaspoon
Sliced provolone cheese As needed
Hamburger buns, sliders, etc. As needed

How To Make Philly Cheese Steak Sloppy Joes:

  1. Step 1: Cook Meat & Vegetables: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook and crumble the ground beef, onion, green pepper, and salt until the beef is no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Step 2: Thicken the Mixture: Stir the cornstarch into the ground beef mixture until the meat is coated. Add the beef broth, A.1. Sauce, and steak seasoning. Stir together and bring to a boil.
  3. Step 3: Simmer: Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and let the mixture simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes. The mixture should thicken and will continue to thicken more once it’s removed from the heat.
  4. Step 4: Toast Buns: While the meat is simmering, set your oven to broil. Place the buns on a cookie sheet and brush them with butter. Broil for just a few minutes, watching carefully as they can burn easily.
  5. Step 5: Assemble & Serve: When the meat is done, use a slotted spoon to scoop it onto the bottom half of each bun. Place a slice of provolone cheese on the top bun. Broil for a few more minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Place the top bun on the bottom bun and serve warm.
