How To Make Peanut Butter Fritos Candy:
Step 1: Prep the Pan: Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Pour the entire 9 oz bag of Fritos into the dish, spreading them out into an even layer to cover the bottom completely.

Step 2: Heat the Syrup: In a large microwave-safe bowl, whisk together the 1 cup of corn syrup and 1 cup of sugar. Microwave on high for 1 minute and stir. Continue heating in 1-minute increments (usually about 3 minutes total) until the mixture reaches a rolling boil.

Step 3: Add the Peanut Butter: Carefully remove the hot syrup from the microwave. Immediately add the 1 cup of peanut butter and stir vigorously until the mixture is completely smooth and the peanut butter is fully incorporated.
Step 4: Combine: Pour the hot peanut butter mixture over the Fritos in the baking dish. Work quickly to ensure you cover as many chips as possible. Do not stir the chips into the mixture, as this will crush them; simply let the syrup seep down between the layers.
Step 5: Set and Chocolate (Optional): Let the candy sit at room temperature for 1 hour to cool and firm up. If you are adding the chocolate layer, melt the 1 cup of chocolate chips in the microwave using 30-second intervals. Once smooth, spread the chocolate evenly over the cooled peanut butter layer.
Step 6: Slice and Serve: Once the chocolate is set (you can speed this up in the fridge for 15/20 minutes), cut the candy into squares or rectangular bars.
