For the Wonton Filling:

Soy Sauce 1 tablespoon
Sesame Oil 1 teaspoon
Cornstarch 1.5 teaspoons
Ginger (freshly grated) 1 teaspoon

For the Broth:

Chicken Broth 8 cups
Garlic Cloves 2 whole
Sesame Oil 1 teaspoon
Ginger 2 slices (about 1/4″ thick)
Soy Sauce 2 tablespoons
Green Onions (sliced) 1-2

For the Wontons:

Wonton Wrappers 30
Flour For dipping wontons

Instructions:

  1. Create the Wonton Filling (5 minutes):

    • In a bowl, combine ground pork, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, and ginger. Mix well.
  2. Assemble the Wontons (10 minutes):

    • Place 1 teaspoon of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper.
    • Fold and seal the wontons. Dip the bottom of each wonton in flour before placing on a parchment-lined pan.
  3. Prepare the Broth (15 minutes):

    • In a pot, bring chicken broth, garlic cloves, sesame oil, and ginger slices to a boil.
    • Reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes. Remove garlic and ginger slices.
  4. Cook the Wontons and Serve (5 minutes):

    • Add wontons to the simmering broth and cook for about 5 minutes.
    • Remove garlic and ginger slices from the broth.
    • Serve the wonton soup immediately, garnished with sliced green onions.
