  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a large baking sheet.
  2. Mix together the all-purpose flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter with the unsweetened cocoa powder over medium heat, stirring until smooth.
  4. Add the water to the butter-cocoa mixture and bring to a boil. Remove from heat.
  5. Combine the butter-cocoa mixture with the flour mixture, stirring until smooth and well combined.
  6. In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, and vanilla extract.
  7. Add the buttermilk mixture to the chocolate batter, stirring until fully incorporated.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking sheet, spreading it out evenly.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
