Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Butter 1 cup (2 sticks)
White sugar 1 cup
Brown sugar 1 cup
Vanilla 3 teaspoons
Eggs 2
Flour 2 cups
Baking powder 1 teaspoon
Salt 1 teaspoon
Pecans (chopped) 1 cup

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven and prepare pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Melt butter and combine sugars: In a large microwave-safe bowl, heat the butter in 15-second increments until fully melted. Add both the white sugar and brown sugar to the melted butter, along with the vanilla. Beat with a whisk or electric mixer until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Add eggs: Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Sift dry ingredients: In a separate small bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Sifting helps to ensure a tender texture.
  5. Combine wet and dry: Gradually add the sifted dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Fold in pecans: Gently fold in the chopped pecans until they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  7. Bake: Transfer the batter to the prepared 9×13 inch baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the chewies are cooked through the center. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out with moist crumbs attached.
  8. Cool and cut: Allow the Pecan Chewies to cool completely in the baking dish before cutting them into squares or desired shapes. Enjoy these chewy and nutty delights!
