Ingredients:

Ingredients Quantity
Granulated sugar 1 ½ cups
Evaporated milk ⅔ cup
Butter or margarine 2 tablespoons
Semisweet chocolate chips 1½ cups
Miniature marshmallows 2 cups
Chopped pecans (optional) ½ cup
Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
Salt ¼ teaspoon

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Baking Dish: Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, allowing an overhang for easy removal. Set aside.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine granulated sugar, evaporated milk, butter or margarine, and salt. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
  3. Boil the Mixture: Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Once it reaches a boil, reduce the heat to medium and continue to cook and stir for about 4-5 minutes.
  4. Add Marshmallows and Chocolate: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in miniature marshmallows, semisweet chocolate chips, chopped pecans (if using), and vanilla extract.
  5. Stir Aggressively: Stir the mixture vigorously for 1 minute or until the marshmallows are melted to your desired consistency.
  6. Pour into Baking Dish: Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Decorate the top with additional miniature marshmallows or pecans if desired.
  7. Chill and Serve: Allow the fudge to cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until set. Once set, cut into squares and indulge in your homemade Toll House Famous Fudge!
