Breadcrumbs 1/3 cup
Egg 1
Worcestershire sauce 1 tablespoon
Garlic powder 1 teaspoon
Onion powder 1 teaspoon
Salt and pepper To taste
Olive oil 2 tablespoons

For the Sauce:

Cream of mushroom soup 1 can (10.5 oz)
Milk 1/2 cup
Sour cream 1/2 cup
Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon
Dried thyme (optional) 1 teaspoon
Onion, thinly sliced 1 small
Garlic, minced 2 cloves
Salt and pepper To taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Make Hamburger Steaks: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until combined. Form into 4-6 patties.
  3. Brown Steaks: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Brown the patties on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. Transfer to the baking dish.
  4. Make Sauce: In the same skillet, sauté onion and garlic until softened. Stir in cream of mushroom soup, milk, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Assemble and Bake: Pour the sauce over the patties in the baking dish. Cover with aluminum foil. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  6. Serve: Let rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy with mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.
