For the Gravy:

Condensed mushroom soup 2 cans (10.75 oz each)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13 baking dish.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a bowl, combine 2 pounds of ground beef, 1 1/2 cups crumbled saltine crackers, 1 cup milk, 1/2-1 teaspoon Italian herbs, 1/2 teaspoon powdered onion, 1/2 teaspoon powdered garlic, 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, salt, and freshly ground pepper.
  3. Form Steaks: Shape the mixture into 1/2-inch-thick hamburger steaks and dredge them in flour.
  4. Brown Steaks: Brown the steaks in a skillet over medium-high heat, then transfer them to the prepared baking dish.
  5. Make Gravy: Whisk together 2 cans of condensed mushroom soup and 1 1/2 cups milk. Pour this mixture over the steaks in the baking dish.
