Potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced | 5 |
Yellow onion, chopped | 1 |
Cream of mushroom soup | 1 can (10.5 oz) |
Heavy whipping cream | ¼ cup |
Dried rosemary | 1 teaspoon |
Beef broth | ½ cup |
Garlic powder | ½ teaspoon |
Shredded cheese | 1½ cups (cheddar or your choice) |
Salt and black pepper | To taste |
Instructions:
- Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook beef and onions: In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add chopped onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened. Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Drain excess fat.
- Make creamy sauce: In a medium bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, heavy whipping cream, beef broth, and dried rosemary. Stir until smooth.
- Layer ingredients: In the prepared baking dish, arrange a layer of thinly sliced potatoes. Season with salt and pepper. Spread half of the cooked beef mixture over potatoes, followed by a layer of the creamy mushroom sauce. Repeat layers.
- Add cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the top of the casserole.
- Bake: Cover the casserole with aluminum foil and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until potatoes are tender. Remove foil during the last 10 minutes to allow cheese to become golden and bubbly.
- Serve: Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
