Ingredients:
For the Topping:
- Prepare Cake Batter: In a large mixing bowl, combine the contents of 1 box of yellow cake mix, 1 container of coconut pecan frosting, ⅔ cup oil, 1 cup water, and 4 large eggs. Blend together with an electric mixer until the batter is smooth and well combined.
- Add Pecans to Batter: Gently fold in the ½ cup of finely chopped pecans into the cake batter until evenly distributed.
- Bake Cake: Spread the mixture evenly into a 9×13-inch baking dish that has been well greased. Bake in a preheated oven (refer to cake mix box instructions, typically 350°F or 175°C) for approximately 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Prepare Praline Topping (While Cake Bakes/Warm): While the cake is still warm from the oven, prepare the topping. In a pot over medium heat, add the 2 tablespoons unsalted butter and 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk. Stir continuously until the butter has completely melted and the mixture is warm and smooth.
- Finish Topping: Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the 1 cup chopped pecans.
- Assemble & Serve: Immediately spread the warm topping mixture evenly over the warm baked cake.
- Enjoy! Serve the Pecan Praline Cake warm, allowing the rich flavors to meld beautifully.
