Ingredients:
Ingredient | Quantity |
---|---|
Ground pork | 1 pound |
Onion, finely chopped | 1 small |
Garlic, minced | 3 cloves |
Fresh ginger, minced | 1 teaspoon |
Green cabbage, thinly sliced | 1 small |
Shredded carrots | 1 cup |
Soy sauce | 1/4 cup |
Sesame oil | 1 tablespoon |
Rice vinegar | 1 tablespoon |
Crushed red pepper flakes | 1/2 teaspoon (optional) |
Salt and pepper | To taste |
Green onions, chopped | 2 |
Sesame seeds | 1 tablespoon (optional) |
Sriracha or hot sauce | For serving (optional) |
Instructions:
- Cook the ground meat: In a large skillet or wok, heat a tablespoon of sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground pork (or your choice of ground meat) to the skillet. Cook, breaking it up with a spatula, until it’s browned and cooked through. Season with salt and pepper, then remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Sauté the vegetables: In the same skillet, add the finely chopped onion, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Sauté for 2-3 minutes, until the onion is soft and fragrant. Add the shredded cabbage and carrots. Stir to combine and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender but still slightly crisp.
- Combine the ingredients: Return the cooked ground meat to the skillet with the vegetables. Stir in the soy sauce, rice vinegar, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using). Mix well to combine all the flavors. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish and serve: Taste the mixture and adjust the seasoning. Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the chopped green onions. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot, with a drizzle of Sriracha or hot sauce on top for an extra kick.
