This decadent dessert combines the rich flavors of chocolate brownies with a gooey fudge center.

Ingredients:

For the Brownie Batter:

All-purpose flour 1 cup
Unsweetened cocoa powder 1/2 cup
Baking powder 1/2 teaspoon
Salt 1/4 teaspoon
Unsalted butter (melted) 1/2 cup
Granulated sugar 1 cup
Eggs 2 large
Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon

For the Fudge Center:

Brown sugar 1/2 cup
Unsweetened cocoa powder 1/4 cup
Boiling water 1 cup

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.
  2. Make brownie batter: Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. Cream together melted butter and sugar in a large bowl. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Stir in vanilla extract. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  3. Create fudge center: Sprinkle brown sugar and cocoa powder evenly over prepared brownie batter in baking dish. Slowly pour boiling water over the entire mixture. Do not stir.
  4. Bake: Place baking dish in preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until edges are set and center is slightly jiggly.
  5. Cool and serve: Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. The fudge center will thicken as it cools.
