Trick #1: The Magnetic Solution

For this trick, all you need is a powerful magnet. If the key is stuck in an upright position, this method can work like a charm.

Begin by applying some lubricant to the key. Then, take the magnet and place it on the key. Allow it a moment to work its magic, and you’ll find the key sticking to the magnet and coming off easily.

Trick #2: Needle-Nose Pliers or Fine-Tip Scissors

Grab a pair of needle-nose pliers or scissors with a very fine tip for this method. First, lubricate the area around the key. Then, carefully grip the end of the key that’s protruding from the lock with the pliers or scissors.

Gently pull the key, making sure not to exert too much force. You don’t want to risk pushing the key further into the lock.

Now, if the key broke inside the lock but the door remains open, you can try one of these tricks.

Trick #1: Using Another Key

In the case where your key is stuck with the door open, look for a key with a very thin tip. Insert it from the opposite side (inside the house) until it makes contact with the broken key.

Push inward to encourage the key to come out completely. If it doesn’t come out entirely, you can use pliers to assist in pulling it out.

Trick #2: The Silicone Method

This method has become quite popular on social media due to its effectiveness. The key must be in an upright position for this trick to work. Here’s how it goes:

  1. Heat a piece of silicone with a lighter until it melts.
  2. Immediately apply the melted silicone to the lock, specifically at the point where the key is stuck.
  3. Apply firm pressure for about a minute until the silicone cools.
  4. Slowly pull the silicone back to help the key come out. Be gentle to avoid breaking the silicone.
