Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Hot dogs 3 (32 oz) packages
BBQ sauce ⅔ cup
Yellow mustard ⅓ cup
Liquid smoke 2 teaspoons
Paprika 1 tablespoon
Garlic powder 2 teaspoons
Onion powder 2 teaspoons
Salt ½ teaspoon
Black pepper 1 teaspoon
Brown sugar ½ cup, divided

Instructions:

  1. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150°C).
  2. Slice the hot dogs into thirds or quarters, depending on their length. Place the sliced hot dogs in the prepared baking dish.
  3. Pour the BBQ sauce, yellow mustard, and liquid smoke over the hot dogs. Toss to ensure the hot dogs are well coated.
  4. In a small dish, combine the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Reserve ¼ cup of the brown sugar for later.
  5. Sprinkle the dry seasoning mixture evenly over the hot dogs in the baking dish.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, tossing the hot dogs halfway through the baking time to ensure even coating and cooking.
  7. Remove the baking dish from the oven and sprinkle the remaining ¼ cup of brown sugar evenly over the hot dogs.
  8. Increase the oven temperature to 400 degrees F (200°C) and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until the hot dogs start to brown and the sauce thickens slightly.
  9. Serve the Hot Dog Burnt Ends warm with your favorite deli salads or as a tasty appetizer.
