Hamburger Potato Casserole

| Half and half | 1 cup | Creamy base |
| Onion powder | 1 tbsp | Seasoning |
| Kosher salt | 1½ tsp | To taste |
| Black pepper | 1 tsp | Freshly cracked |
| Colby Jack cheese | 3 cups | Freshly shredded, divided |
Instructions
- Prep Potatoes
Slice potatoes thinly (⅛ inch). Place in water to prevent browning. - Preheat Oven
Heat to 350°F (177°C). Grease a 9×13‑inch baking dish. - Cook Beef Mixture
In a Dutch oven or large pan, brown beef with onion and garlic over medium‑high. Drain excess fat. - Make Sauce
In a bowl, whisk mushroom soup, half and half, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth. - Layer Casserole
Drain potatoes. Layer ⅓ potatoes in dish, then ⅓ beef mixture, ¾ cup cheese, and ⅓ sauce. Repeat layers. - Final Layer
Top with remaining potatoes, beef, sauce, and 1½ cups cheese. - Bake
Cover with foil. Bake 1 hour 10 minutes. Remove foil and bake 20 minutes more until bubbly and golden. - Rest & Serve
Let sit 15 minutes before serving—it will be very hot.
