Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Onion, grated or pureed 1/2
Garlic, minced 2 cloves
Ginger, minced 1/2 teaspoon
Miso paste or gochujang 1/2 teaspoon
Soy sauce (low sodium) 1/2 cup
Granulated sugar 2 tablespoons
Sesame seeds, toasted and cooled 1 tablespoon
Sesame oil 1 teaspoon (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the grated onion, minced garlic, ginger, and miso paste. Whisk to combine.
  2. Add soy sauce, sugar, and sesame seeds to the bowl. Whisk again to combine.
  3. Microwave the sauce for 30-40 seconds, or until the sugar dissolves.
  4. Stir in sesame oil (if using).
