Baked Sausage and Pepper Jack Wontons

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Ground sausage 1/2 pound
Pepper Jack cheese, shredded 1 cup
Wonton wrappers 24
Green onions, chopped 1/4 cup
Red bell pepper, finely chopped 1/4 cup
Garlic powder 1 teaspoon
Onion powder 1 teaspoon
Salt and pepper To taste
Egg, beaten 1
Cooking spray As needed

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven: Set oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cook sausage: Brown ground sausage in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess grease and let cool.
  3. Prepare filling: Combine cooled sausage, Pepper Jack cheese, green onions, red bell pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix well.
  4. Assemble wontons: Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Spoon 1 tablespoon of filling into the center. Brush edges with beaten egg. Bring corners together to form a pouch and seal tightly.
  5. Bake wontons: Place sealed wontons on prepared baking sheet. Lightly spray tops with cooking spray.
  6. Bake: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Serve: Let cool slightly before serving with your favorite dipping sauce.
