Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
All-Purpose Flour 2 cups
Baking Powder 1 teaspoon
Salt 1/2 teaspoon
Warm Water 3/4 cup
Olive Oil 2 tablespoons
Garlic (minced) 3 cloves
Grated Parmesan Cheese 1/2 cup
Fresh Parsley (chopped) 1 tablespoon

Instructions:

  1. Combine dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add wet ingredients: Gradually add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients, stirring with a spoon or your hands until a shaggy dough begins to form.
  3. Knead the dough: Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, or until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Rest the dough: Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest at room temperature for 15 minutes. This allows the gluten to relax, making it easier to roll out.
  5. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Roll out the dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the rested dough into a thin oval or rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Transfer to baking sheet: Carefully place the rolled-out dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Prepare garlic oil: In a small bowl, mix the minced garlic with a drizzle of olive oil (about 1 teaspoon) to help it spread easily.
  9. Add garlic and parmesan: Spread the garlic oil evenly over the surface of the rolled-out dough. Sprinkle the grated parmesan cheese evenly over the garlic.
  10. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges of the flatbread are golden brown and the parmesan cheese is melted and slightly toasted.
  11. Garnish and serve: Remove the garlic parmesan flatbread from the oven and sprinkle the chopped fresh parsley evenly over the top. Slice and serve immediately while it’s warm and fragrant.

Enjoy your simple and delicious Garlic Parmesan Flatbread!
