Georgia’s Melt-In-Your-Mouth Toffee

This recipe yields a rich, buttery toffee with a touch of sweetness and a satisfying crunch from the nuts. It’s a perfect treat for any occasion.

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Unsalted butter 1 cup
Granulated sugar 1 cup
Salt 1/4 teaspoon
Water 1/4 cup
Pure vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
Semisweet chocolate chips 1 cup
Chopped pecans or almonds 1/2 cup

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cook the Toffee:
    • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
    • Add sugar, salt, and water. Stir until sugar dissolves.
    • Bring to a boil and cook to 300°F (hard crack stage), stirring constantly.
    • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  3. Assemble the Toffee:
    • Pour toffee onto the prepared baking sheet.
    • Sprinkle with chocolate chips and let sit for 1-2 minutes.
    • Spread melted chocolate over toffee.
    • Sprinkle with nuts and press down gently.
  4. Cool and Break:
    • Let toffee cool completely.
    • Break into pieces.
