Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Russet potatoes 4 large
Olive oil 2 tablespoons
Sea salt 1 teaspoon
Black pepper ½ teaspoon
Paprika (optional) ½ teaspoon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper or lightly grease them.
  2. Wash and peel the potatoes (optional). Using a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife, thinly slice the potatoes for even cooking.
  3. Soak the potato slices in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes. This removes excess starch, resulting in crispier chips.
  4. Drain the potato slices and pat them dry thoroughly with a clean towel. Moisture will prevent them from crisping.
  5. In a large bowl, toss the potato slices with olive oil until each slice is evenly coated.
  6. Arrange the potato slices in a single layer on the baking sheets. Sprinkle them with sea salt, black pepper, and paprika (if using).
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes in the preheated oven, flipping the slices halfway through for even browning. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning. The chips are done when golden brown and crispy.
  8. Once baked, remove the chips from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your homemade potato chips with your favorite dip or alongside a meal!
