Ingredients:
Ingredient | Quantity |
---|---|
Crescent roll dough (8 oz cans) | 2 |
Sliced fresh strawberries | 1 1/2 cups |
Butter | 3/4 cup |
Brown sugar | 1 1/4 cup |
Vanilla | 2 teaspoons |
Cinnamon | 1 teaspoon |
Lemon juice | 2 teaspoons |
7Up or Sprite soda | 1 cup |
Instructions:
- Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare strawberries: Wash and slice strawberries. Set aside 1 cup for filling and 1/2 cup for topping.
- Roll dumplings: Unroll crescent roll dough and separate into triangles. Place a few strawberry slices at the wide end of each triangle. Roll up the dough, tucking in sides to seal strawberries inside. Place rolled dumplings in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Make sauce: In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Stir until sugar is dissolved and mixture is smooth. Pour sauce over strawberry-filled dumplings in baking dish.
- Bake: Carefully pour 7Up or Sprite around the edges of baking dish, not directly over dumplings. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until dumplings are golden brown and sauce is bubbling.
- Serve: Let dumplings cool slightly before serving. Top with remaining sliced strawberries. Enjoy with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
