Ingredients:
Ingredient | Amount |
---|---|
Warm Milk | 240 ml (1 cup) |
Condensed Milk | 75 g (¼ cup) |
Egg | 1 |
Sugar | 30 g (2 tbsp) |
Dry Yeast | 7 g (2 ¼ tsp) |
Flour | 520 g (4 ¼ cup) |
Salt | 1 tsp |
Butter (softened) | 50 g (¼ cup) |
Butter (for brushing) | 45 g (3 tbsp) |
Condensed Milk | 45 g (3 tbsp) |
Instructions:
- Prepare the Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, condensed milk, sugar, and dry yeast. Mix well. Add an egg and whisk again. In a separate bowl, mix flour and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Gradually add softened butter while kneading until fully incorporated into the dough.
- Let the Dough Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Shape the Bread: Divide the dough into two portions. Roll out one portion into a rectangle, about 25×40 cm in size. Roll the dough into a log and cut it into pieces. Place the pieces in a prepared baking pan. Repeat the process with the remaining dough.
- Let the Bread Rise Again: Cover the shaped dough with a kitchen towel and let it rise for another hour.
- Preheat the Oven: While the dough is rising, preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Bake the Bread: Once the dough has risen, brush the top of each bun with egg wash. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. If making smaller buns, bake for about 20 minutes.
- Brush with Condensed Milk Butter: In a small bowl, whisk together equal parts of butter and condensed milk. Brush the warm bread with this mixture as soon as they come out of the oven.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the bread to cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy your fluffy condensed milk bread!
