Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Ground Beef 1 pound
Pasta Shells 12 ounces
Onion (finely chopped) 1 small
Garlic (minced) 3 cloves
Tomato Sauce 1 can (15 ounces)
Diced Tomatoes 1 can (14.5 ounces)
Tomato Paste 1 tablespoon (optional)
Italian Seasoning 1 teaspoon
Paprika 1 teaspoon
Garlic Powder 1 teaspoon
Red Pepper Flakes 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
Salt and Pepper To taste
Mozzarella or Cheddar Cheese (shredded) 1 cup (optional)
Olive Oil 2 tablespoons
Fresh Parsley or Basil (chopped) For garnish

Instructions:

  1. Cook Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta shells according to package directions. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  2. Cook Ground Beef: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  3. Sauté Vegetables: Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until onion is soft and translucent, and garlic is fragrant.
  4. Add Tomatoes and Seasonings: Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add cooked pasta shells to the skillet with the ground beef sauce. Toss to coat evenly. If sauce is too thick, add some reserved pasta water.
  6. Add Cheese (Optional): Sprinkle with shredded cheese and cover and cook on low heat for 2-3 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley or basil and serve hot.

Enjoy!
